The mistake this lesson prevents

Someone finishes a certificate, decides they want to bartend, and applies to the twenty best bars in their city — the ones they have heard of, the ones with the cocktail programme, the ones on the list.

Then they hear nothing from any of them and conclude the industry is closed.

It is not closed. They aimed at the part of it that hires experienced bartenders, which is the part everyone can see, and skipped the much larger part that hires people at their stage.

Take the segments from Module 1 and re-sort them

Module 1 sorted venue segments by how the money works. Sort the same list by a different question — who does this segment hire, and from where? — and it comes apart differently.
